From my European perspective, I cannot understand that the USA or the country / the city or simply any kind of a public institution do not care for these people. They need help. Given that it is not just few individuals but rather thousands of people who are also potential tax payers, I am just wondering as this seems to be a horrible system problem.. Are there no social workers, no social institutions? No social programs for people in need who would undertake resocialization in order to go back to a normal life? I am of the opinion that each country shall care for its own people.

My Great-great Grandfather was a teamster in South Fork who was pressed into service that day to haul whatever stones, blocks and boulders they could in an attempt to raise the dam and stop the leaks.
